1. IELTS Bar Chart Sample answer 1 (lặp diễn đạt):
… Overall, Acme spent more on advertising than Famous. Both companies spent the most money on television promotion, with Acme spending $250,000 while Famous spent $200,000. Acme spent the second highest amount on newspaper advertising, at approximately $ 125,000, whereas Famous spent only about $ 75,000 on this type. In contrast, Famous spent more on the Internet than Acme, at $ 100,000 and $ 50,000 respectively. Both companies spent the least money on billboard promotions, at about $ 25,000 each.
2. Các cách thay đổi mô tả số liệu trong IELTS Bar Chart
Clause, at + số/ with + Ving/noun phrase
Eg1: Toyota spent quite much money on TV advertising last year, at 3 million dollars
There + be + số
Eg2: There was 3 million dollars being spent on TV advertising last year
The amount/ number/percentage + be + số
Eg3: The amount of money used for TV commercials by Toyota last year was 3 million dollars
Số + be + the amount/number/percentage
Eg4: 3 million dollars was the amount of money that Toyota used last year for TV commercials
Sử dụng các động từ thường: To account for/constitute/amount to/ occupy
Eg5: Toyota’s expenditure on TV advertising last year accounted for 3 million dollars.
Sử dụng các diễn đạt số liệu thay thế như: the figure for/the data of để tránh lặp chủ ngữ
Eg6: The figure for TV advertising last year was 3 million dollars.
3. IELTS Bar Chart Sample answer 2 (đã biến đổi diễn đạt số liệu và sử dụng 3 loại so sánh):
…Overall, Acme’s expenditure on advertising was more than Famous’s. It is also noticeable that both companies used the biggest amount of money on television commercials, with Acme spending $250,000 while the figure for Famous was $200,000. There was $ 125,000 being allocated by Acme on newspaper advertising, the second most common type, whereas $75,000 was the amount that Famous used. In contrast, Famous spent twice as much on the Internet as Acme, at $ 100,000 and $ 50,000 respectively. Meanwhile, billboard promotions in both enterprises accounted for the smallest amount of about $ 25,000 each
