A seminar on English learning took place on Saturday at Tuoi Tre newspaper’s office at 8:30 with the participation of education experts, a banking student who topped a TOEIC exam last year, and many other Vietnamese students and young people.
This was to mark the launch of
Tuoitrenews’ Education column, a window on Vietnam’s education scene which features up-to-date information on education, scholarships, overseas study, courses, and an English study section.
The event centered on effective ways to learn English speaking and listening, which can be useful to those who like to improve their command of the foreign language.
Four guest speakers who participated in the seminar are:
- Mr. Hoang Thach Quan, PhD, Lecturer at University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City)
- Mr. Adam Corrall, ACET HCM Academic Coordinator
- Mr. Peter Cornish, Education consultant
- Mr. Truong Cong Ly, senior student at University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City
At the event, Tuoi Tre presented 80 lovely gifts to those who turned up early while its English version, Tuoitrenews, awarded 5 prizes to participants who correctly answered questions about the two publications.
The Australian Center for Education and Training (ACET) also offered ten gifts to the participants in a lucky draw.
Tuoi Tre’s office is at 60A Hoang Van Thu, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City.
